Hardscape & drainage

The boring engineering that keeps the rest of your property dry.

Driveways, walkways, French drains, regrading, earthwork. The work that is not photogenic but is the difference between a yard that drains and one that floods every August.

What we do

  • Driveways. Concrete or pavers. Engineered base, expansion joints in the right places, sloped to shed water — not to puddle next to the garage door.
  • Walkways & paths. Concrete, pavers, flagstone, stamped. Connected to the driveway and patio so water moves where it should.
  • French drains. The unglamorous fix for a wet yard. Perforated pipe in a gravel trench, run to daylight or a dry well, sized for your soil and your roof footprint.
  • Regrading & earthwork. Lots that pitch water toward the house instead of away from it. We move dirt and reshape the grade so the foundation stays dry.
  • Gutter extensions & downspouts. Routing roof water away from the foundation instead of dumping it in the same spot for a decade until the slab cracks.
  • Erosion control. Riprap, retaining berms, planted swales. Common on Gulf-front and bayou-front properties.

Why drainage matters in Pensacola

The Gulf Coast gets 65+ inches of rain a year, most of it in summer convection storms that dump 2-4 inches in an hour. Lots that work fine for 11 months of the year fail in August. We design for the worst day, not the average one.

Diagnosis is the work

Half the calls we take for “a French drain” turn out to need regrading or downspout extensions instead — cheaper, and actually solves the problem. We walk the property during or after a rain when we can, and we will tell you when you do not need what you think you need.

Often bundled with
